Nashville, TN - Synergy Imaging Affiliates is pleased to announce the American College of Radiology accreditation of Synergy Imaging of Huber Heights.

The American College of Radiology is the principal organization of radiologists, radiation oncologists, and clinical medical physicists in the United States. The College is a nonprofit professional society whose primary purposes are to advance the science of radiology, improve radiologic services to the patient, study the socioeconomic aspects of the practice of radiology, and encourage continuing education for radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and persons practicing in allied professional fields. For over three quarters of a century, the ACR has devoted its resources to making imaging safe, effective and accessible to those who need it.

The purpose of the ACR's accreditation programs is to set quality standards for practices and help them continuously improve the quality of care they provide to their patients. ACR accreditation is an efficient process of both self-assessment and independent external expert audit, based on ACR guidelines and technical standards, which assesses the qualifications of personnel, policies and procedures, equipment specifications, QA activities, patient safety, and, ultimately, the quality of patient care.

Accreditation for MRI through the ACR requires the submission of both clinical and phantom data from each magnet submitted for accreditation. Accreditation requires a clinical review of both routine and specialty examinations. Specific examination selection, including a minimum and maximum number of required examinations, depends upon the number of modules being evaluated for accreditation at the same time.
